Call for Technical Papers

Congratulation to those whose abstracts have been accepted (manuscripts for accepted abstracts are due 6/3, and manuscripts for tentatively accepted abstracts are due 5/29). ASCE will refund the registrations of rejected manuscripts.

Please register by clicking here: REGISTER (Please note that this registration includes one conference proceedings and your conference registration. You DO NOT have to register for the CI Summit and/or ASCE Texas Section as your registration will include those conferences)

Once you've registered, please email icsdec2012@gmail with your registration number so that we can proceed with the review immediately.

The abstract submission deadline is now over. If you still wish to participate at the conference or submit an abstract/manuscript for consideration (at your own risk), please email icsdec 2012@gmail.com for consideration first. Such paper/manuscript will be forwarded to the "Special Call" committees for consideration. The due date for such papers is 5/23.

Selected top quality papers from the conference will be published in the following special issues:  Journal of Sustainable Cities and Societies by Elsevier, ASCE Journal of Architectural EngineeringASCE Journal of of Construction Engineering and Management and the International Journal of GEOMATE.

1. Special Call Geotech Papers (Selected papers from the conference will be puiblished in the special issue for the International Journal of GEOMATE). Click here to submit and here  for more details. Please indicate "Geotech Special Call" on your abstracts and papers. Papers related to Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering and Environment Engineering are welcomed. 

2. Special Call for Transportation, Structural and Environmental Papers: click here to submit and indicate "Transportation, Structural and Environmental Special Call" in your abstracts and papers. Selected papers will be submitted to journal(s) related to this topic (We're currently working with a journal on their special issue), and may qualify for the Special Issues of the Journal of Architectural Engineering and Journal of Construction Engineering and Management

3. Special Call for Architecture and Urban Planning Papers: click here and indicate "Architecture and Urban Planning Special Call" in your abstracts and papers. Selected papers will be submitted to journal(s) related to this topic (We're currently working with a journal on their special issue), and may qualify for the Special Issues of the Journal of Architectural Engineering and Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.

We are currently planning a workshop on "Sustainability Quantification". Attendees may be able to get reimbursement for their travel if they're selected to attend. More details will be made available at a later date. Please email icsdec2012@gmail if you have question(s).

All papers will be reviewed before acceptance, and all accepted papers will be published in the ASCE Refereed Conference Proceedings. There will be two special issues for this conference (to be published in the ASCE Journal of Architectural Engineering and the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management). Papers from the special calls will be forwarded to the respective journals' special issues. Selected papers for the special issues will have to be rewritten and resubmitted to these special issues. Other high-quality papers relevant to the other topics will be forwarded to the other journals, but the acceptance decisions will be made by those journals themselves. Accepted papers for the special issues MAY be withdrawn from the proceedings (prior to the advice of ASCE).

March 20,  2012 – Abstract(s) submission due date (Click Submit Abstract, and it'll bring you to the easychair.org website. Submit your abstract through the system and you'll need to register an account through easychair.org)

April 15, 2012 - New abstract(s) submission due date (Click Submit Abstractand it'll bring you to the easychair.org website. Submit your abstract through the system and you'll need to register an account through easychair.org) (Those who submitted abstracts by March 20, 2012 will receive their reviews by April 5th, 2012).

May 23, 2012 - Due date for manuscripts for authors who still wish to submit manuscripts and/or abstracts for consideration by "Special Call" committees (at your own risk).

May 29, 2012 – Recommended manuscripts submission deadline for early review, and authors are required to register for conference.

June 3, 2012 – Last day to upload manuscripts for review in order to receive reviews before July 15, 2012 (all final manuscripts and paperworks have to be uploaded by August 3, 2012)

July 15, 2012 – Latest date for reviewed manuscripts are returned to authors

Aug 3, 2012 – Final manuscript and all necessary paperworks (copyright transfer and rights to use contents from other publications) are due from the authors (Submit Paper: To submit your paper, please use the same account that you used to submit abstract). We have moved forward the deadline to upload final manuscript by four days to comply with ASCE editorial requirement. At least one author of each manuscript has to be registered for the conference, if not, the paper(s) will not be reviewed. Registration fee will be fully refunded if the paper is rejected.

Nov. 15, 2012 – Invited papers for the special issues to be announced.

Full paper(s) will only be reviewed when at least one of the authors is registered for the conference. Registration fee is refundable in full if none of the author's paper(s) is accepted before August 1, 2012. The refund is NOT applicable to the other conference participants (such as industry and academic participants who did not submit paper(s) and author(s) whose papers are accepted but wish to withdraw paper(s) from the conference).

The ICSDEC 2012 is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of sustainable design, engineering, construction and materials. This conference will bring together leading researchers, scientists, and practitioners (architects, engineers, material suppliers, contractors, etc.) in domains of interest from around the world. We warmly welcome paper submissions from all interested academic researchers and industry participants.
